         <description><![CDATA[<div>Natural Selection: The process whereby organisms better adapted to their environment tend to survive and produce more offspring. <br><br>Mutation: The changing of the structure of a gene<br><br>Migration: Movement from one part of something to another.<br><br>Gene flow: The transfer of genetic variation from one population to another.<br><br>Divergent Evolution: The accumulation of differences between groups which can lead to the formation of new species<br><br>Parallel Evolution:&nbsp; The independent evolution of similar traits, starting from a similar ancestral condition.<br><br>Convergent Evolution:&nbsp; The process whereby organisms not closely related, independently evolve similar traits as a result of having to adapt to similar environments or ecological niches.<br><br>Sexual selection: Natural selection arising through preference by one sex for certain characteristics in individuals of the other sex.<br><br>Genetic drift: Variation in the relative frequency of different genotypes in a small population.<br><br>Homologous structures:&nbsp; When very different animals have bones that appear very similar in form or function and seem to be related.<br><br>Vestigial Organs:&nbsp; A rudimentary structure in humans corresponding to a functional structure or organ in ancestral animals.<br><br>Ontogeny Recapitulates phylogeny: The development of an organism expresses all the intermediate forms of its ancestors throughout evolution.<br><br>Molecular Evolution:&nbsp; The process of change in the sequence composition of cellular molecules such as DNA, RNA, and proteins across generations.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
