Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand

Little Louie Zamperini grew up in a small town in California named Torrance. Here he has many successes and fails, but he is still the heart of the town. Louie then finds the passion for running away from stealing. His brother is determined to make him the best, and it worked. Louie Zamperini became a world famous Olympian runner and won almost every race he ran. After his running career, he joined the military and was placed in Hawaii. Louie was a bombardier on a B-24 liberator. But one day on one of his journeys, his plane and his crew went down. Louie and 2 others survived the crash. After a long 47 days out at sea they were found. But it wasn't the Americans that found them. Louie and his one other friend that survived were caught by the Japanese. The Japanese imprisoned, beat, and starved all the pilots they found. After the traumatic experience, Louie went home to his family. A little later, he started to suffer from PTSD ( Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Louie also got married to his forever wife Cynthia Applewhite. This took a major impact on Louie. And to stop all of it, he started to drink. This was another major affect on his life. His wife was very concerned. And finally he stopped. All because of God. Louie started to go to church, and that helped him. He stopped drinking and got help with therapy. Louie Zamperini lived a happy life with his wife and his two children.
