I imagine my ideal workplace as a chilled space with lots of natural light, comfy chairs. There’d be some quiet spots for when I need to get my head down and focus, but also areas where I could easily chat with my team or brainstorm ideas. A few plants here and there would be nice too—just makes the place feel more alive and less like a typical office. Oh, and definitely good Wi-Fi and tech that actually works!

It shows I like balance. I need a place where I can be productive but not feel too stressed or boxed in. I like having a creative atmosphere and value flexibility, so having different spaces for different types of work suits me. The plants and comfy seating also show that I care about having a good environment to keep me feeling calm and focused.

I’d definitely need to think about stuff like making sure the chairs and desks are actually good for your posture—don’t want to end up with back pain from sitting weird all day. Also, having loads of tech and wires could be a trip hazard, so keeping cables tidy would be important. Fire safety’s another thing, especially if there’s loads of electronics in use. And yeah, distractions could be a problem in an open space, so I’d need some quiet zones for when I really need to concentrate

An ideal workplace for me is somewhere that feels inclusive, welcoming and safe. Everyone should feel like they are part of a community and that they can come to advisors with concerns they have regarding their wellbeing or factors within the workplace that are impacting them.

If the workplace involves a lot of sitting down and screen activity, then having appropriate chairs is incredibly beneficial for individuals to prevent any injuries or strain to their back and spine.

It is important to consider all workers backgrounds to ensure that my ideal workplace environment is followed through. For example, having any meetings, announcements or deadlines revealed to everyone at appropriate time to avoid stress, overworking, and creating an unwelcoming environment.
