These essential morals can be outlined further:

Ren is the concept of benevolence, which means showing empathy, kindness, and respect towards others. Li refers to the concept of rites and rituals, which include proper manners, courtesy, and respect towards one's elders. Yi means the notion of justice and fairness, which includes upholding the principles of honesty and integrity in one's actions. Xiao refers to the concept of filial piety, which means showing respect, gratitude, and obedience towards one's parents and ancestors. These core concepts help one self cultivate and improve oneself, which includes striving to become a better and more enlightened person through education and moral conduct.

Regarding family, respect for elders and those older than you is a key aspect. Filial piety is also extremely important.

Regarding education, Confucius believed that education developed character and leadership, and so it should not just be exclusively for nobles.

• Education: Confucianism placed a strong emphasis on education, seeing it as essential for personal and social development. According to Confucius, the purpose of education was to cultivate moral virtues, such as empathy, compassion, and respect, and to prepare individuals for roles in society. As a result, education became a highly respected social institution in China, and scholars and intellectuals were considered influential members of society. 

• Gender roles: Confucianism prescribed distinct gender roles in Chinese society, with men expected to be strong, brave, and knowledgeable, and women expected to be submissive, obedient, and attentive to household duties. This hierarchy based on gender led to significant restrictions on the roles and opportunities available to women in Chinese society, including limitations on access to education and participation in the public sphere.

•  Social hierarchy: Confucianism established a strict social hierarchy in Chinese society, with rulers at the top, followed by scholars, then farmers, and finally merchants and traders. This hierarchy placed great emphasis on social order and stability, and it prescribed norms of behavior and interaction between individuals based on their rank in society. 

• Government: Confucianism influenced the development of the civil service system in China, which for centuries was a foundation of the Chinese government. According to Confucian ideas, rulers should be virtuous and just, and state officials should be appointed on the basis of their qualifications and abilities, rather than their family connections or wealth.

•  Social normalities: Confucianism had a strong impact on social norms and values in Chinese society, including a focus on respect for elders, loyalty to family and community, and a sense of obligation to one's ancestors and the country. 

Subsequently, these values have shaped many aspects of Chinese culture, including communication styles, family structures, and social expectations. Overall, while many aspects of Chinese society have evolved and changed over time, the influence of Confucianism on Chinese culture and values remains important.
