This can be related to sacraments because they are holy ceremony's or celebrations of Christ.  Sacraments and artifacts both have spiritual and mystical values.
2.) The "meshing of planes" is the idea of two lands coming as one even though they are not seen together. The elvish cloak can be compared to this because they are not seen by others but whoever bears the cloak can see its true colors.
3.) The lembas bread is given to Frodo and Sam in the LOTR was a offering by the elves sort of like the Eucharist but, the Eucharist is converted into the body of Christ. Lembas bread is used  to its advantage but isn't sacred like the Eucharist.
