         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1978 a Marxist party had taken control in Afghanistan's. Soviet leaders pushed communist ideals and attempted to liberate Afghan women. This would lead to oppositions movements and a decade long war. The with the Afghans aided by the U.S,  the Soviets realized that this war wasn't one they could win and retreated. This showed that even these superpower nations had limits.</div>]]></description>

Later it was decided to make a compromise to disengage and not invade each other as the U.S and Soviet did not was a nuclear war.  This set the tone on how dangerous nuclear warfare actually is, and the race to create these nuclear weapons for propaganda. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>By 1960 China had their own developed military as the Soviets called off their agreement to help with nuclear weapons. China in 1979 ended up going to war with Vietnam as the Vietnamese invaded Khmer Rouge. Not only that China and Soviet Union were is disagreement with ideologies and territory disputes around this time which almost lead to war. With the fear of the Soviets, China and and North Vietnam retreated. Overall Nationalism was more powerful than communist solidarity.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Soviet Afghanistan War was fought between Afghanistan rebels called the Mujahideen. This war was during the time where communist ideals had become controversial due to Stalin's crimes. Protests against communist ideals began in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Poland. The Soviets invaded in attempt to take political control of Kabul and large portions of Afghanistan. The war lasted 9 years and the the Afghans had won with the help of the U.S.<br>The U.S had aided Afghanistan as a way to prevent the spread of communist ideals. This shows the impact these superpower had on the decolonized nations and the ideals of capitalism vs communism.</div>]]></description>

Castro was captured when defeated by the Cuban army but later escaped to make social and economic reforms in Cuba. Castro and his government had established a communist Cuba with improved wages, education, and general improves in living standards.</div>]]></description>
