This is Michaels school. He had been to about 15 schools before this. Big Tony, his friend's dad took his son to see if he could get him in and Michael tagged along. They didn't want to accept him but the football coach wanted him to be accepted and they accepted him becaus ethey were a christian school and that whT Jesus woud've done. Football Field

Michael was left tackle for the Briarcrest Saints. He had never really payed footbal before he came to Briarcrest. He was a great basketball player though. All of the coaches loved him because he was such a huge kid but he had the foot work and agility of a little kid. He endend up playing two seasons and the first season it took him untill the last game to figure football out completely, but the last season he was amazing.

I rate this book five out of five stars. I really like sports books and especially football ones. I also like books about real stories that actually happened like this one. I liked this one a lot because it shows that you can start at nothing an dbecome a great person and player.

I think the author believes that we should never give up. This GIF is of Michael Oher. He came from a terrible background where he didn't really know his parents. He was taken from his mom at a young age and his dad died whil ehe was in high school by being thrown off of a overpass. He wasn't a great student because he was very shy and didn't have good grades. He didn't give up and went from a 0.6 GPA to a 2.5 to get into college.

I think this quote is important becaue it was when Michael's aggression finally came out. The guy he was blocking was talking trash to Michael the whole game and one play he just put his hands on him and ran him until. the whistle blew. He ran him over the fence and had a penalty called on him becaue he was black that wan't even a real penalty. This was when the college coaches really started to take notice of him.

This quote shows that every college in the country wanted him and wanted to give him a full ride scholarship. He had soooo many colleges interested in him that some colleges gave up or just knew that they wouldn't get him to come because he had bigger schoola wanting him.

The Tuhoy's House

Michael was a kid that didn't really have a home and spent all of his nights at different places. Some nights he would stay at Big Tony's houe and others he would just go to classmates or other random places. The Tuhoys were a family that was really involved in the school and was very rich. Sean was the husband and would talk to Michael and he payed for his schooling and lunch. One day they saw Michael walking in the cold with just shorts and a t-shirt on and they took him home. After a while of him staying there, Leigh-Anne asked Michael is he wanted to stay there an he did so they gave him a bed.

Thsi is what Memphis would have looked like when Michael was there. His mom lived in the hood and like the bad place of Memphis. The Tuhoys lived in the nicer part. they lived in the suburbs and ha a really huge house almost like a manchion so that shows how different parts of Memphis were just like 20 minuetes apart.

I think this is a great book for athletes. It was good for me because I realized that no matter where you come from, you can make it. Thank you for writing this. I think it helped me by knowing that even if you aren’t noticed early you can be a big time player. This is definitely one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. Thank you for what you wrote.

Michael went from nothing and a bad background to being one of the best left taclkes ever. He was th 23rd pick inf the 2009 NFL draft. He won a super bowl in 2013 with the Baltimore Ravens.
