1. Before aryans invaded northwest India in about 1500 BCE there was a civilization in the Indus Valley area. In the 19th century archeologists found collections of cities which had a large public bath in the middle of the city as well as in many homes. Which suggest value of ritual purity. Many seals appear to be a man sitting in a meditative position while other seals depict a figure that could be a precursor of the Hindu god Shiva- one of the most important gods in the Hindu pantheon and is considered a member of the holy Trinity and also a protector of the Vedas.

The most important part of the Vedas is the Rig Veda which consists of 1,028 hymns praising the gods of the Aryan tribes who invaded India from northwest around 2000 BCE.
