Rainsford and Whitney are on their way to hunt in the Amazon. They are discussing hunting jaguars and the topic of the dreaded Ship Trap Island comes up and Whitney begins to tell Rainsford about her past expeditions there when she was an researcher and the only thing she agrees to tell Rainsford was that the things she saw on the island were unspeakable. Whitney goes to bed and Rainsford goes to smoke a pipe on the edge of the boat.

"We should make it in a few days. I hope the jaguar guns have come from Purdey's. We should have some good hunting up the Amazon. Great sport, hunting."

Part 2

It's probably been 2 hours since Rainsford began his smoke session, he's picked up a book out of boredom. As he's reading his book the wind begins to pick up, off in the distance he spots the Island. Unbothered, he continues to read his book until he hears what sounds like a scream. He jumps up trying to figure out where it came from. Almost immediately after he hears the scream, there's thunder, lightning and the rain. The boat begins to rock violently resulting in Rainsford falling off the boat.

"He struggled up to the surface and tried to cry out, but the wash from the speeding yacht slapped him in the face and the salt water in his mouth made him gag and strangle."

Part 3

Rainsford washes up on a beach coughing and choking. He starts to explore the jungle nearby the the beach. There he starts to find things like ripped up clothes and shoes, he also finds a campfire that seems to have been abandoned with bloodied foot prints leading away. He continues to explore and he comes across a huge cabin looking house. He knocks on the door hoping to get some shelter and some food. A man comes to the door and introduces himself welcomingly. His name is Zaroff and he says he's a former Czar officer. He invites Rainsford into his home and asks him if he'd like to go camping with him one day.

Part 4

The next morning Rainsford gets up early to secretly go peep around the mansion. In his search he finds a basement, looking in the basement he finds living people who look like they've been locked there for months. Rainsford is shocked and honestly terrified. one locked in a separate cage stands out to him, he was big and looked mean. Rainsford runs out of the basement in shock and tries to make sense of everything without losing his mind. He decides not to confront Zaroff about his discoveries. Zaroff finds him back in his room and they go out "camping" while camping Zaroff says he needs to step away to use the restroom, Rainsford waits on him but Zaroff never returns.

Part 5

Rainsford finds this beyond suspicious but takes this as an opportunity. He makes his way back to the house and goes down to the basement where the people are. He ends up confronting the people on why they were their. They explain that Zaroff has locked them in there, some even being locked for months, they also inform Rainsford that any prisoner who has went camping with Zaroff never returned. Rainsford decides he's heard enough and tells them about the plan he's devised, to kill Zaroff before he kills him. They all agree with his plan. The big and scary one comes to him and explains his name is Ivan and Zaroff forces him to torture prisoners who refuse to go camping. Ivan knows where Zaroff is planning his attack from previous "camping trips" and tells Rainsford that they could jump him and Zaroff wouldn't stand a chance against all of them. The group corners Zaroff in his hiding quarters and like Ivan said Zaroff was no match for the sailors seeking revenge.

"I am still a beast at bay," he said in a low, hoarse voice. "Get ready, General Zaroff"

"The general made one of his deepest bows. "I see," he said. "Splendid! One of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in this very excellent bed. On guard Rainsford."
