In this chapter, high school art teachers collaborated with one another in order to think of a new way to incorporate writing in their classrooms. Ultimately, the teachers began brainstorming and agreed on the use of Pinterest. They all liked this idea because students could create digital artwork, critique other students' artwork, and review critiques posted to their own art work. However, in order for the art teachers to make sure their idea would align with learning standards, they collaborated with english teachers. While collaborating with these english teachers, they created a rubric for the students to follow. Once the rubrics were made, students completed outlines, made drafts, and critiqued each other's work.

The instructional strategy I observed the teachers using was incorporating the four areas of critique for art with the use of technology. By incorporating technology, the teachers enabled students to work on their 21st Century Learning skills.

Additional Strategy: Reflection and Response

An additional strategy I would implement to this lesson would be providing students with the time to reflect on their work. According to fortheteachers.org (2017), allowing students to reflect and/or respond helps you to know where students stand for planning next lessons and it increases memory retention for students. In relation to this lesson, it would enable students to really think and reflect on how they created their pin board and what they could have done to enhance it.
