Drug addiction, also called sudDrug addiction, also called substance use disorder, is a disease that affects a person's brain and behavior and leads to the inability to control the use of a legal drug or medication or illegal. Substances like alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine are also considered drugs. When you are addicted, you can continue to use the drug despite the harm it causes.
