"OCR' s mission is to ensure equal access to education and to promote educational excellence through vigorous enforcement of civil rights in our nation's schools," (U.S. Department of Education, 2023). </p><p>The OCR enforces several federal laws that prohibit discrimination in education, including <em>Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972</em>, and <em>Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973</em>. The ORC investigates complaints of discrimination, conducts compliance reviews, and promotes initiatives to ensure equal access to education for all students. </p>]]></description>
