Many Australians also celebrate New Years on a boat or cruise, parklands and beaches. On the other hand, others have barbecues or parties. In the bigger cities, like Sydney, it’s often on television so people can join at home. When the clock hits midnight for New Years, fireworks are thrown and people begin to hug, shake hands, or even kiss to show appreciation for their New Year.
