         <description><![CDATA[<p>Taylor, a professional cyclist who grew up in a wealthy white family in Indianapolis, Indiana, was introduced to cycling at a young age when he received his first bike in 1892. He gained early fame by performing bicycle stunts outside the bicycle shop where he worked, showcasing his talent and determination. Despite facing racism and the challenges of the Jim Crow restrictions, Taylor broke barriers and paved the way for future African American athletes in sports.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>O'Ree was born in Fredericton, Canada where he was the youngest of 9 children. He learned how to skate at the age of three, where he fell in love with Canada's national sport, hockey. He entered his first hockey league at age five, starting something that will continue on until he was an adult. On January 18th, 1958, O'Ree was the first African American to play in an NHL game. His movements opened the door for younger kids of all races to play hockey. <strong> </strong></p>]]></description>
