         <title>Nellie The Nucleus</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br><br>My nucleus Nellie is easily recognized as the most important structure of any animal or plant cell. Nellie is the main control center of the cell and acts like the cell brain. Most cells have only one Nellie, don't you think it would be confusing to have more than one Nellie inside a cell? There are however circumstances where a cell can develope more than one Nellie(nucleus). These are called nuclei.<br><br>Nellie can be found only inside Eukaryotic cells.(eukaryotic  is defined  as a cell with a nucleus). Nellie is an organelle within a cell, which means it has specific function and is surrounded by a cell membrane that serves to protect it from other occupants of the cell while it carries out it's duties. It floats in a special fluid called Cytoplasm.<br><br><strong><mark>Nellie's Structure</mark></strong><br><br>Nellie is found in an envelope made up of two separate membranes, the inner and outer membrane. These membranes protects the special molecules within the nucleus from getting out and it also protects the nucleus from the rest of the cytoplasm. <br><br>Nucleolus;  This is a large structure in the nucleus that mainly makes Ribosomes for RNA. ( Ribonucleic acid)<br><br>Nucleoplasm;  The fluid that is found inside the nucleus.<br><br>Chromatin;  Chromatins are composed of  protein and DNA (Deooxyribonucleic acid). They organize into chromosomes prior to cell division.<br><br>Pores;  These are small channels through the nuclear enevelope. These pores allow for smaller molecules to pass through as messenger of RNA molecules, but keep larger DNA molecules from coming in and causing disruptions.<br><br>Ribosomes;  Ribosomes found in Nellie are made inside the nucleolus and then sent outside the nucleus to make proteins.<br><br><mark>SOME GENETIC INFORMATION ABOUT NELLIE THE NUCLEUS</mark><br><br><br>1.  The nucleus is the first of the cell organelles to be discovered by scientist.<br><br>2.  The nucleus takes up approximately 10% of the cell's volume.<br><br>3.  Nellie's most important function is to store genetic information in the form of DNA. DNA holds all the specific information on how the cell should work.<br><br>4.  The nucleus can make exact copies of it's DNA.<br><br>5.  Molecules found in DNA are organized in a special structure called a chromosomes.<br><br>6.Sections of DNA are called genes which holds hereditary information such as height and eye color.</div>]]></description>
