The segment of 14th ave between Stockton Blvd and 58th St. is very dangerous for pedestrians, bicyclists and cars due to parked cars along the small but busy street. Parked cars block the bike lane forcing bikers into the street, and driving visibility is difficult. Utility poles block the sidewalk every few feet. There are many pedestrians coming off Stockton blvd that tend to gather in the street, so more visibility for drivers could avoid fatal accidents. It would be great to see parking restricted in this stretch of 14th avenue, and a protected crosswalk somewhere. This area was designed to minimize cars cutting through to avoid traffic, but this also forces bikers through a busy street with no usable bike lane.

There is also a long blank wall on this street that would be a great opportunity for a community space, mural or garden to attract pedestrians.

There have been accidents where deaths accord right in front of my apartments on Norwood Ave between San Juan and Fairbanks. Drivers racing and people running lights. It's also scary for young children walk down those streets. Also have had race shows on a few occasions. I believe improvements would be speed bumps or and maybe more street lights. But speed bumps for sure.

It is a high traffic area which serves school children in an area that’s underserved and has poor active transportation infrastructure which covers a lot of topics I think are important to this committee.

A younger looking female driver almost ran right into my sleeping baby son while he was in his stroller, while I pushed him in front of me after waiting my turn to walk because she driving through the stop sign completely disregarding it. Many, Many class c cars drive right through this four way stop with stop signs. People go down this street to get to el Camino directly from Arden off of the freeway and they speed through the stop signs to do it. It is completely dangerous and all the kids and people in the neighborhood rush past through the intersection in fear of being hit because huge industrial traffic goes through there making it hard to see shorter pedestrians, such as people in wheel chairs and children. And since it is a four way stop, people from all side as are doing it. There is a house on one corner with bushes that are blocking a a clear visible view and another set of bushes across from it also blocking visible views while turning making it extra dangerous.

Feces, is literally the most disgusting piece of city street I’ve ever walked on in my entire life and after walking through at one time, because once you’re in that space, you’re unable to access the overpass so you have to go through it to continue on Octa to Arden. It’s on the right side if you’re going towards Del Paso walking away from Arden fair mall there’s literally hundreds of turds everywhere on the ground.

I just wanted to share something I've noticed about the bike lanes at the corner of Mack Road and Franklin Blvd.

You know, if you look at both sides of the street, the bike lanes on the north side are way easier to see. This makes it safer and just feels better for anyone riding their bike. But on the other side, it's not quite the same - the lanes are kind of hard to see, and I think it might need a bit of a fix.

Keeping everyone safe is really important, right? So, I had this idea to make things better. We could use some bright paint to make the bike lanes stand out more, just like the ones on the north side.

This could be a pretty easy fix and it fits with the idea of making our town a good place for cyclists. Plus, it could be a fast way to make things safer for everyone who likes to bike around here.

I hope this idea helps and I can't wait to see if we can make this happen!

The reason is folks driving down Franklin tend to go pretty fast and turn swiftly onto MLK. There's also a median there, and it has a super sharp turn.

A good idea to fix this might be to put in a protected bike lane and maybe use some bright paint.
I think one thing we should change that is just a mapping change, is to not identify any bike routes/lanes on roads that have speed limits over 25-30 mph, unless they have a physically separated bike lane. These routes seem to be in Google, and new bikers could use Google to map a bike route that will show them going on very speedy and unsafe routes. If they tried following the routes, they would likely not want to try biking again.

I DO think we should have bicycle lanes on major corridors since it is the easiest way to get around. However, I think the lanes need to be buffered and there should be a lot more space for bicycles if lanes are placed on major corridors. Getting to/from anywhere long distances is not easily done on low-speed roads, particularly in South Sacramento.

I am writing about the overpass on the 12th street freeway entrance. This is a very busy entrance. A number of years ago there was an accident that damaged the railing. The city put up these barriers and did some small repairs. There may have been more accidents there since then as this is a heavily trafficked area with little walkways. For reference, this is one of the few areas where cyclists and pedestrians can cross the freeway from Oak park to the surrounding neighborhoods of Curtis park and North city farms and beyond. While the other side of the street is clear of obstruction it also comes with its own problems and is in various stages of disrepair.

I have included a picture from this last week where I saw the person in the scooter who could not cross the street due to traffic. They ended up dragging their scooter off the sidewalk and drove in the street because the side walk was blocked and they had no other option besides walk 3 blocks back.
