I learned many ideas that I can use to get my students curious about words. 

Investigating word families will give my students opportunities to connect with the meaning of the words rather than just with the letters and sound. Understanding how words are built and put together will guide them as they use words in different context. 

I will definitely follow what Patricia Cunningham would like us, teachers, to ask to our students:

“Do I know any other words that look and sound like this word?”

“Are any of these look-alike/sound-alike words related to each other?

 2 Things I want to Try
I would like to try the Spelling inventory because the analysis will really help me see what my students already know and what they need help with.

The purposeful and meaningful Grammar Inquiry that we learned today is another thing that I want to do with my students if I have the chance. I like how it is structured and it looks like something that the students will really enjoy.
