Royal family tries to escape France - Marie Antoinette

My family and i began to grow extremely fearful of the dangers of the revolution. We decided that we needed to escape. We disguised ourselves, apparently poorly. For we were noticed as soon as a small town in Varennes. We were immediately arrested. My husband was charged of treason. He would also soon be executed for it. This stunt seemed to have unfortunately caused everyone to trust and like us even less.

I awoke 5 am, January 21st, 1793 to my last day in this universe. Attended mass and communion at 7. And I was on my way to execution by 9. I began to refuse to have my hands tied, but caved in when offered a handkerchief by the executioner. I was stripped of my collar. My hair was cut. I began to give a speech, my final words. However the drums grew too loud, and was unable to deliver it. I laid on the bench, the collar came around my neck, then blackness.

The third estate was constantly shown lack of representation. They were granted double representation. However, they were then told that voting would be done by power not by head. Third estate began to meet on their own. They called themselves Commons. On July 17, they had come together as the National assembly. I was in support of their independence. I have even tried to convince the king to reunite the separate estates. But, as the king does, he agreed to but did not inform the estates of such a meeting.

We arrived at Versailles three days after forming our national assembly. We are stunned by the locked doors an soldiers at the entrance. We were fearful of any possible dangerous situations. So, we decided to gather in the near tennis court. They started to create an oath. It stated, "not to separate, and to reassemble whenever circumstances require, until the constitution of the kingdom is established." I, however, was the one who did not vote in favor of this. I only execute decisions made by the king.

July 12, 1789, i hear word of Jacques Necker being dismissed by the king. I was at the Cafe du Foy. I knew I had to do something about this threat. Growing up in poverty, i needed to be a leader for my peers and this revolution. I mounted a table outside, with a pistol in my hand. I exclaimed, "Citizens, there is no time to lose. The dismissal of Necker is the knell of a saint Bartholomew for patriots! This very night all the Swiss and German battalions will leave the Champ de Mars to massacre us all; one resource is left; to take arms!" Citizens took action in this time of fear. They massacred dozens, rightfully so.

The great fear was causing revolts for both economic and political reasons. I believe that there was no need for the great fear. Peasants were ready to revolt and when the fear came the king was already up and away. On October 4, 1789, the Women's march took place. Women who just wanted bread for their families marched to Versailles. They got incredibly close to the queen. They even reached her chambers! The panic finally died down around August, but did not particularly settle into less dangerous times.

October 15th, I sat down at dinner with Barere, Saint-Just, and Vilate. I called Hebert an imbecile for trying tot accuse the queen of incest. The accusing should be left to me. The articles i wrote were terrible, but necessary. We could not trust anyone. Around 170,000 to 400,000 citizens were killed. Like I said, this is necessary for a successful revolution. Only those we can absolutely trust shall be left, and I will make sure of it.

The 27th of July, 1794, I hear word of Robespierre's arrest. Later, on his execution day, I hear that he had tried to kill himself with a pistol. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful. He could only managed to shatter his jaw. I didn't want the man to die, but this was torturous and embarrassing. Everyone was ruthless by keeping him alive and still sending him to the guillotine. The Directory for two years tried to stop the Jacobin Reign of Terror. They managed to shut them down. The government also stopped an armed uprising done by us.
