         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 2013, more than five Filipinos died for every 1,000 people residing in the country, according to official figures.&nbsp;More than 531,280 people of various ages and ethnicities have lost their lives during this period. Males accounted for 57 percent of all deaths, accounting for 304,516 deaths, while females accounted for 43 percent of all deaths, accounting for 226,764 deaths.&nbsp;<br><br>According to the United Nations, the death sex ratio is 1.34, which implies that for every 100 female deaths, there are 134 male deaths. Male death rates have consistently been higher than female death rates for several decades now.&nbsp;Thus, males are always more likely to die than females," says the author. According to reports, the elderly, specifically those over the age of 70, were the most vulnerable to death. It was responsible for more than 38 percent of all deaths, with 202,564 occurrences, according to the latest figures.<br><br>Deaths occurred at a rate of 0.9 percent among individuals aged 10 to 14, in contrast to the general population. When compared to children aged four and up, deaths among children under the age of one year (21,992 or 4.1 percent) are more than twice as high as those among children aged four and up (9,526 or 1.8 percent ) As the population grows older, the death rate increases.
