This tragic event is what Hitler planned out and used in an attempt to both take over the world and create a new world order based on their ideology. The Nazis would torture, execute, and hold hostage anybody they believed did not fit their views on how people should look/be. Hitler believed in the "pure Aryan race", which he deemed perfect, and what he compared everybody else to. People captured were mainly Jewish but were also held for various reasons, including ethnicity, sexuality, and where they stood politically. He was considered weak and very shy, but as time went on he grew to be extremely good at giving speeches and socializing with people, and eventually became the leader of what he created, the Nazi party. Whether it be ethnicity, religion, sexuality, or just opinionated thoughts, people who were taken to these camps did not deserve to go through what they did and if I were able to go back in time and prevent it from all happening, I would have. Though it is such a traumatic and tough topic to look up and learn about, it is something that deserves to be known and acknowledged by everybody, because learning from our past and what people have gone through is a good way to make sure that things like that never happen again. As the years go by and the Holocaust has taken place over 90 years ago, survivor numbers dwell down, which is sad because we cannot all hear from their first-hand experiences.
