Some core beliefs that I have regarding students are that that every student can be successfully academically and in life regardless of their cultural, social, or economic status.  Every student must have the equal opportunity to grow and develop their skillset to the highest of their ability. Students who may be underrepresented in the school’s culture must be set up for success just as any other student would. If the student has a goal, it is my responsibility as a school counselor to do everything in my power to assist them in achieving that goal. Students are like sponges who are soaking up information daily and must have group of leaders surrounding around them to help them advocate for themselves and others around them. My vision as a school counselor is to always uphold myself to the highest standard following the ASCA Code of Ethics and provide equal learning opportunities for all students. As a school counselor, I promise my students and myself to always advocate for my students and provide them with the safe space needed to express themselves truthfully.
