Why is it more difficult to add unlike fractions than it is to add like fractions?
It is more difficult to add unlike fractions than like fractions because with unlike denominators you have to find a common denominator which can be a bit more complicated. Unlike with like denominators all you have to do is add the numerators and keep the denominators.

it is more difficult to add unlike fractions because with unlike denominators, you have to find the common denominator, and that can be quite hard. But with like denominators all you have to do is add the numerator for your answer.

It's more difficult to add unlike fractions because there is more steps like you have to find the like denominator and it is easier to add fractions with like denominator because you don't have to find the like denominator and all you have to do is add numerators and you keep the denominator the same an and that is why I think it it easier to add fractions with like denominators.

It is harder to add unlike fractions because you would have to find the like denominator and with like fractions the denominator are the same so you don't have to find the like the denominator it was already done for you and it is less harder than trying to find the like denominator.

It is more difficult to add unlike fractions than like fractions because the unlike fractions have more different values so you would need to go through different steps to be able to add them together (ex: finding common denominators) while on like fractions it is easier because their denominators have the same value so adding them is simple.

It is more difficult to add unlike fractions than like fractions because when you add unlike fractions both of the fractions have unlike denominator and you would have to make both denominators the same. While if it was a like fraction you could just add both fractions together. Another reason is that when you try to find the like denominators you have to multiply both the numerators and denominators.

I think its hard because when you have to differnet denomanators than you have to convert the denomanators a lot and that is hard for me and other people. When you convert fractions you have to find a nummer that they both go into and that can be kind of hard.

Its more difficult to add unlike fractions to like fractions because with like fractions you just need to add the numerator to the numerator but with unlike fractions you have to figure out a way to add the fractions together. Then after that you add them like this:1)Multiply the denominators (bottom numbers). This is the denominator in your answer. 2) Multiply the diagonals. Place the answers above the fractions.Diagonals are pretty much the top number even though the top numbers are called numerators they are sometimes called diagonals because there are no more numbers to be able to use because you already multiplied the denominators so now all you have to do is multiply the numerators and then you get your answer.THIS IS MY OPINION.

The reason why it's more difficult to add unlike fractions than it's to add like fractions is that when you have two or more fractions with unlike denominators you have to convert the fraction.When you convert a fraction you have to find a number that they both have in command when you multiply them example 5 and 2 the number that they have in command is 10 because 2 times 5 is 10 and 5 times 2 is 10.WHen you are done converting your fractions you can now add them.When you have fractions with like denominators is to add them because you don't need to find a alike denominator because you already have one.

It is harder to add unlike fraction because you have to find the same denominators. Then you have to multiply the denominator and the numerator by how you got to your denominator and whatever you do to the bottom you have do to the top. But when you are adding fractions with like denominators it is simple to add the numerators and then get your answer instead of doing all these methods to get one answer. As you can see it is harder to add unlike fractions then it is to add like fractions. This is my opinion and the answer to your question.

The difficulties with this is that when adding unlike and like fractions it's easier because you don't have to find the same denominators.It's harder to do it with unlike denominators because you have to find an equivalent denominator by multiplying it evenly into the greatest denominator but if the least greatest denominator can't be multiplied evenly into the greatest denominator you have to find the most common denominator.It's pretty easy to learn how to do this like and unlike fraction problems once you get the grasp of it

Its harder to add fractions that have different denominators because you would have to either simplify or multiply them to get a common denominator to be able to add them for example 1/2 + 4/8 you would need to multiply 1/2 by 4 to get 4/8 than when you add 4/8 +4/8 you get your answer.

I think it's harder to add fractions that don't have equal denominators because you get confused easily and try to learn a little more but your brain can't process the work that is in front of you. For example
