He understands what each part is used for, like seeing with his eyes, holding things with his hands, and walking with his legs. He also has excellent spatial awareness. He enjoys playing games where he stands next to a chair, on its right side, behind it, or even on top of it. This shows his confidence in moving his body and positioning himself and objects in different spaces. Activities like these make exploring space and learning through movement exciting and enjoyable for him.

Kgotso has shown wonderful growth in his fine motor skills! He enjoys rolling play dough into balls and snakes and then cutting them, which strengthens his hands and fingers. He has also become more skilled at using pegs, carefully picking them up one by one to create patterns. These activities show how much he enjoys learning through hands-on tasks.

Kgotso is doing a fantastic job identifying primary colours such as red, blue, and yellow, as well as many other colours. He can name these colours independently! He also enjoys sorting objects, like blocks and shapes, from small to large. This shows how much he has learned and how confident he has become when engaging with different activities.

He demonstrates great skill in creating patterns with his blocks on paper, accurately predicting which block comes next in the sequence. This is a wonderful way to develop his thinking skills. Kgotso’s confidence continues to grow as he practises these fun activities, and he is becoming increasingly proficient at recognising colours and sorting objects. Keep up the excellent work!

Kgotso is a very confident boy who enjoys coming to school. He says goodbye to his mom and dad without feeling sad, demonstrating his independence. He loves playing with his friends and is excellent at sharing toys, which is a valuable skill. Kgotso can also eat independently and use the bathroom without assistance. Kgotso has grown so much in literacy, and it is clear that he really enjoys it! He loves our weekly rhymes and songs, especially when we add fun actions. It is fantastic to see him confidently identify phonetic sounds. He actively participates during our morning circle when we discuss the days of the week, months of the year, and the seasons. Kgotso also enjoys talking about the weather, which helps him engage with both his teacher and his friends.

Kgotso loves to pay close attention when we learn new words. He repeats them in Afrikaans, isiZulu, and even tries sign language! He shows great confidence and enjoys listening to his friends speaking Afrikaans. Sometimes he finds it funny, but he always does his best to repeat what they say. This demonstrates his interest in other languages and his eagerness to learn, as well as his enthusiasm for performing the actions for the sign language words we practise each week.

Kgotso loves learning about numbers and shapes! He can easily name different shapes, such as circles, triangles, rectangles, squares, ovals, and diamonds, showing how much he enjoys exploring the world of shapes. When he counts with his friends, they have fun clapping their hands and clicking their fingers. Occasionally, he may skip a number, but that is perfectly normal as he is still learning. He can also recognise his numbers from 0 to 10 in the correct order.

Each day, Kgotso improves his numeracy skills. He enjoys activities that help him learn and feels proud when he can name shapes and count correctly. Learning is exciting for him, and he loves sharing his knowledge with his friends. With every new shape and number he learns, he grows more confident in his abilities.

When Kgotso first joined the Squirrel class, the environment was completely new and unfamiliar to him. Despite this, he quickly formed friendships and adapted remarkably well. Observing his growing confidence at school fills my heart with joy. His development across all areas of learning has been extraordinary and witnessing his transformation into a more self-assured and joyful student has been truly rewarding. It has been a delight to have him in the Squirrel class. His progress is impressive, and I encourage him to continue the excellent work he is doing.
