Greeks created myths to explain things, and to teach people to behave well. Morality myths are myths created to teach lessons, like don't steal, lie, and always have hope. They teach us to never be immoral, and they usually have a villain, or someone acting immorally. Sometimes they involve a god, deity, or goddess getting mad and punishing someone. Then, usually someone, maybe the villain, maybe someone else, has to face the consequences of the immoral act. They let you off with a lesson or moral. Creation myths are myths that are made to explain things like rain and the four seasons. They sometimes have things to do with the gods, goddesses and deities getting mad or sad or happy, like morality myths. They give reasons to these things, like when it rains Zeus is getting angry. It gave them comfort that they know what is happening and why. Greeks worked these myths into their everyday lives, and they passed down these stories until they became the myths we know today.

Eva Rose

Greek gods and goddesses created morality myths to explain or give a moral of why you should never act out immorally. For example, in Pandora's box, Pandora opens the box Zeus gives her and told her not to open but she opens it anyway. Another example is, in the myth of Medusa, A beautiful maiden that acts immorally in the temple of Athena. Athena punishes her by making her very ugly and having snakes for hair.

I think the Greeks created myths to make sense of some of the supernatural things that happen in our world, for example, you might be scared of lightning and when you see or hear it you might say '' looks like a thunderstorm''. you could say something that relates to a story like '' Wow, Zues must be angry!'' and that would relate to the god of lightning Zues, because when he gets angry, he shoots lightning! So, I think Greeks made myths to make some people at ease when they were figuring out science!

One example of a myth is Achilles' Heel, which is one of my favorite Myths! In this myth Achilles thinks he is invincible, but he discovers his heel is a weak spot because it was not dunked into the river Styx. The moral of the story is to know your weaknesses!

Cora

The Greeks made myths to explain the unexplainable. Morality myths were created to teach life lessons, and to tell what will happen if you disobey. Take the boy who cried wolf, this moral tells us to not lie. It's immorality is a boy who screams a wolf a wolf! When there was no wolf, eventually the townsfolk get sick of it and when there is a wolf he shouts, and no one comes. Therefore, his sheep get eaten.

GWENY

The Greeks made Mortality myths to demonstrate how people can be moral (good) or immoral (bad). An example of a mortality myth is Pandoras box. Pandora, who is the first human, gets gifts from the gods, including curiosity. Pandora gets a box, and the instructions from Zeus to not open it. Being curious, she opens it, not listening to Zeus' orders, and, well, let's just say she payed the price. This demonstrates how Pandora is immoral by opening the box, even though she was told not to. A creation myth is a myth that shows how something is created, such as the name of something, or how things came to be. Pretty well named, huh? Anyway, a creation myth example is the story of Hephaestus, working under Mt. Etna, and the Romans called him Vulcan. Sometimes, he worked so hard, that the mountain would erupt. If something happened with another mountain, they called it a volcano. Volcano? Vulcan? Heh? Heh? Get it?

Alice Neal

Greeks made these stories to explain what is moral and immoral like the boy who cried wolf it teaches you not to lie or make up stories you might regret. It makes our generation better. Creation myths tell us how things were made like the ocean, and some have gods for that specific element like Trident the god of the sea. Some gods are heroes as in good and some evil depending on their origin stories.

Morality myths each people lesson like don't lie no stealing and be kind. Acting immorality would be like doing the opposite of what a lot of the myths are telling you. Creation myths are answers to why things are created like where storms came from. In a lot of myths there are immoral people. they teach us lessons called morals/themes.

Yurek- Morality myths are myths that teach a lesson, or MORAL. An example of a morality myth is the myth of PHAETHON. This is one of my absolute favorites. Phaethon was the son of Helios, the sun god. Phaethon yearned to pull the sun across the sky, which is something restricted, and only to Helios, and Apollo, the god of light. Phaethon ended up acting IMMORALLY and decided to drive the sun anyway. Next, Phaethon off the sun, and out of the sky, causing him to be severely injured. The moral of this story is to only do things in your own capability, and to be safe.
