         <title>MUSIC - haram or halal?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>After 1978 Islamic revolutionary of Iran, there were many cultural changes. Persian music was one of the most obvious changes (Farehat). <br></em></strong>-Women banned from singing and dancing<br>-Pop Music was illegal ( People began to copy LA musicians)<br>-Music was mostly traditional and religious<br>-Dancing was illegal<br>-International classical music was changed to a music which performed and taught rarely. However, during recent years, Tehran symphonic orchestra as the only symphonic orchestra of Iran was active and some of its instruments were changed. <br>-Underground Music and Bands as the Voice of Protest </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-By the mid-1990s, Iranian cinema began to receive international recognition and fame, thus encouraging more students to join film and photography schools.<br>-Soon, the clergy could no longer ignore the public's demand for more freedom of expression. <br>-When Mohammed Khatami, previously minister of culture, became president in 1998, the artistic community benefited from a relaxation of the rules<br>-<strong><em>galleries had more freedom in their choice of artists and artworks, and artists began to test the limits of what could be allowed. With a silent consensus, galleries began to exhibit new works without feeling threatened, and it was not long before official permits for exhibitions were no longer required.</em></strong><br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br><strong><em>- after the 1979 Iranian revolution, the equestrian sports fell out of favor in Iran, as they were associated with the aristocracy.<br>-Women’s sports however was penalized after the 1979 Revolution both in the universities and in the national arena. Three years later women’s sports began to reshape itself with the formation of Sports Committee of Sisters.<br>-Womens gear was changed. They had to wear hijabs and turbans <br>-Since the revolution , though never explicitly declared in the law, woman were barred from attending men's football, swimming and wrestling competitions.  However, women are generally free to attend indoor sports events.</em></strong></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>--After the revolution many things change in the movies, women were allowed to direct movies and directors had more artistic freedom but on the other hand they banned romance, alcohol, scantily dressed women, night clubs, etc. These changes restricted and allowed new types of movies to be created. Even though these changes made some movie makers go into exile, it benefited the overall production of movies.<br>-Most important genres were melodramas and historical pageants <br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Alcoholic Beverages were banned<br>-Following the revolution, many of these chains went away or adopted new names. Iran has a popular fast food chain called <em>Boof</em>, which is basically a McDonald’s impostor.<br>- Kentucky Fired Chicken  became  Kabookie Fried Chicken <br>-Iranian Cuisine was very much like Persian cuisine but they were both very unique. Regular dishes or meals would consist of kebab, rice, fruit, some sort of meat like lamb or chicken, fish, or nuts.<br>-The usual drink is Dgogh which is a yogurt drink but they also had sherbet drinks.<a href="http://theunmanlychef.com/history-of-food-in-iran/">http://theunmanlychef.com/history-of-food-in-iran/</a></div>]]></description>
