The unusual satinwood inlaid piano body is one of the most elaborately decorated instruments of the nineteenth century. It stands on a stand with a stretcher in the style of eighteenth-century French harpsichords. Mythological characters depicted on the piano make music and play instruments. We see an unusual combination of materials in the manufacture of this ancient instrument: satin veneer, oak, spruce, iron, steel, ebony, ivory, gilding, mother-of-pearl, holly, mahogany, walnut burl, tulipwood, silver wire. In the center of the stretcher is a reclining painted figure of Apollo with a lyre. The intricate decorations on the lid feature grotesque depictions of animals and humans, floral branches, and ivory depictions of Persephone, Ceres, and Bacchus. The cover, case sides, and flap also feature distinctive marquetry and scenes from everyday life, such as a woman and child warming themselves by a fire, a shepherd boy with a dog, and figures playing music or dancing. The open underside of the lid flap is decorated with a large decoration of the Foley family crest, with two supporting lions. The entire instrument has a heavy Louis XV style gilded wood edging that includes carved flowers, scrolls, musical instruments, shells, and masks of Bacchus, Apollo, Diana, and Venus at the top of each foot.

The shapes in this photo happen to be softly contoured ranging from ovals and rectangular shapes to also organic shapes. All are welcomed but have no sharp or rough edges. 

Although my aesthetic revolves around colors and shapes on furniture and other furnishings, the architectural detail I'm focusing on is the half-column walls and the elevated archways. Ideally, the house walls will have these parts in all white so there is a contrast between the color of the room with the rest. The archways provide more space and light into the rooms when there are fewer doors to keep the light in one room. The size of the columns is going to be between 12-16 inches depending on how large the width of the archway is. The walls would also have crown molding to have more than just a plain wall. The texture of the columns will have indents and straight lines and any curved corners are on the top of the column. The walls are going to be any other color than white so the design of the crown molding and columns and design of the archway stands out. 

The colors will come from the various types of flowers I will have, ranging from Hydrangeas to tulips to roses and azaleas. 

The shapes of the plants are organic but the bushes and the plants will try to be put in a neat round way. The pathway will be just like in the image, the rectangular slabs of stone and rocks creating a barrier between the flowers and the pathway. 

Although it is not shown in this photo, this pathway will lead to a greenhouse with more flowers and other furnishings. The backyard will have other open landscapes of just grass for other things. Lastly, an important feature is a texture, nothing too long or else it would poke people's legs, the texture will be implied as well to give an illusion that everything is soft there will be only soft-edged topiary. I refer to it as implied because you can touch the plants and bushes and it may not be soft but the appearance is going to create an illusion. 

I would include this piece in my home because of the colors and how it would go with my room. I also enjoy the saturation and any plant life in art. I would have several other pieces in my dream house but this is a piece I have been wanting to present to others. Although my dream house won't is on a beachfront, it is a great painting to enjoy and observe. 

The shapes in this landscape design is mostly squares of different shapes. The grass, stepping stones, planter boxes, and walkways all share the same symmetrical edges giving it a clean look. The textures are grass and stone with some wood decking in the pathways. The colors are greens, browns in the wood, and gray for the stone. The planter boxes are tan and the building is white as well. The spacial arraignments are varied as the design is elongated due to the yard space.
