If he wouldn't have took it out then his son wouldn't have been dead and none of that would have happened. He was told that death was brought into it and he still wanted to try it being dumb. I don't really think the other are responsible for it because they didn't really believe it . But also at the same time they are because like the son he asked for 200 pounds but said he would never see it . If he didn’t ask for the money that wouldn’t have happened at all. Something bad was gone probably happen  but it maybe wouldn't have been something like someone dying.

It was both the father and son fought. The sergeant shouldn't have bought because it got their attention. It lead to bad luck so if he hadn't bought it this wouldn't have happened .
