- fiber intake can slower down the digestion and thus make people to feel satiety - not feeling hunger for a period of time so may reduce the times of consumption (lower appetite)
- fiber can also increase bile acid digestion, cause cholesterol to be excreted from the body and reduce the proportions of body fat in the body, thus reduce the risk of obestiy

This is because as we increase our fibre intake,it improves our glucose metabolism, insulin sensitivity and decrease our glucose level
. Fibre also helps lowering the risk of cardiovascular diseases and decreased LDL cholesterol level which will prevent obesity.

Some studies have shown that this relationship between fibre and obesity is not so consistent. This is because fibre majorly works on gastrointestinal tract to avoid constipation as it softens and increases the size of stool so that it is easier to pass. So, the fibre intake doesn't directly influence the rate of obesity but indirectly indeed. The more we consume foods higher in fibre, the more healthier we could get as it reduces the health complications such as cardiovascular diseases. Consuming foods high in fibre also increases the satiety that reduces the hunger within an individual where they can actually control the cravings to not eat more. Well, this benefit does help them to retain their body weight to reduce obesity consequences. So, the fibre intake here indirectly correlates with obesity issues.

Dietary fiber intake enhances satiety and reduces food intake that can help control KCal intake as well as to reduce the risk of weight gain leading to overweight and obesity.
Another mechanism is that fiber can help regulate blood sugar levels.
