Mohatma Gandhi was born on October 12, 1869 in Porbander, Gujurat, India. He was very truthful, brave, and generous. He was obedient to his parents and loved them dearly. Gandhi was very short tempered and didn't like it when things didn't go his way. But he never supported violence, and became very religious throughout his life. In school, he was very shy and was bullied because of his appearance. Gandhi didn't care though, and became very wise!

Gandhi was born into a very rich family. His dad was a prime minister for the prince of his city. His mom was a housewife, but they were both very kind and didn't yell at Gandhi. But they still taught him lessons. His 3 older siblings and him lived in a huge house, and were living an average life. Even though he was rich, he cared for the poor, and gave them resources. One day, when Gandhi was stealing gold from his family, his dad didn't yell at him, but told him to be respectful of others.

Mohatma first went to school at age 6. He was bullied at school a lot, but he kept on moving forward. He became confident in school and began to question some of the teachings. He was mad that English was the primary language instead of an Indian language. He didn't like the division of rich and poor people! Once Gandhi finished grade school, he went on to be a lawyer. He went to England to study, but didn't like their way of life, so he went to South Africa. That is where it all began.

Once he went to South Africa, he got his first taste of racism and discrimination. He was thrown into a cart on a train, which was for animals. Gandhi filed a law suit and changed that. When he went back to India, he inspired many people to protest for rights. His marches made him popular, and his law school teachings helped him in many public speeches. Gandhi was well known after that.

During his marches, people hated him and tried to kill him. Many people were killed and they started to regret marching. But his true followers continued to fight for what they thought was right! After a couple of years Gandhi decided to not buy any of the British products. His plan was that the British would struggle financially and would release some taxes. His plan worked, but it was hard. People still hated him and racially judged him. It seemed as if all hope was lost, but it wasn't.

Gandhi continued to gain more followers and gave very inspiring public speeches. He started to march from long distances now, without stopping, and helping people on the way. Gandhi was an inspiration to all people around the world. Many started to follow him and his footsteps. In a few months, over a hundred people were in his marches and didn't quit. After months and months of marches and violence, India won it's freedom because of Gandhi!

Gandhi had 4 sons and one niece. He was hated on in almost all of Europe and was sent constant death threats. MANY people targeted Gandhi, but with all the crowd surrounding him, they never had a shot. Sadly, one day, a man shot him and Gandhi was killed. Gandhi still lives on today for all the things he has done. His religious behavior, like fasting for weeks, was amazed upon by many. Gandhi's spirit would never die!
