Julian first met August when he was showing him around Beacher Prep with 2 other people. He was mean to August but he changed. During the Julian chapter his grandma told him a story about a child who saved her. The story goes like this, a war was happening and bad people were taking all of the Jewish people because they did not like them. Julian´s grandma was hiding because she was Jewish. Then a kid with deformed legs came and said they would find her where she was hiding so she needed to come with him. Then Julian´s grandma went to a town and then went into the 
boy´s farm at his house where he and his parents lived. 2 years passed and she was still in the barn then the boy said his name was Julian (Julian´s dad is also named Julian after the Julian with deformed legs). But then a few days after, the people who did not like Jewish people came and took Julian with deformed legs because he was different. Julian with deformed legs was never heard from again.
