I received the original DS two years after its release in the Christmas of 2006, it was my first portable games console, prior to this I had only experience ones that had to always be plugged in, like my brothers PS2. Games I played the most were Animal Crossing, Super Mario 64, and New Super Mario bros. As well as being my first transportable game console it's also also where I first used technology that could be equated to texting and social media with the chat rooms in Nintendo chat to talk to my friends while travelling together, or my brother, the limitation at that time being that people have to also have a Nintendo and be close to each other.
Then Nintendo came out with the Wii, which the whole family could play it was easier to use than Xbox and Playstation's. Me, my family and friends would spend hours playing Wii sports, Super Mario and Super Smash Bros. It was the first and only gaming technology that my entire family has enjoyed using everything that came out since has been too complicated for older members of my family too use or not engaging enough for younger members.

I remember the cassette tapes that my mum would plug into the car and play to keep me and my brother occupied, when we had yet to learn how to read and loved to sing along to musical segments. Once I learned how to read I realised it didn't grasp my imagination or fill my mind like audiobooks did, so my parents bought me a cd player for my room and a collection on Roald Dahl audiobooks, later I found an old portable cd player in my brothers room and I would once again listen to my audio books in the car, but this time it was through headphones. To this day I find it hard to read without music playing.

The first books that I remember reading was Enid Blytons 'Famous Five' series. Though they were first published 58 years before I was born, I managed to collect the entire 21 book series. . I tried to eat what they ate and drink what they drank, I started trying to dress and act the way I imagined my favourite characters. This is the first media I remember having a significant impact on my life.

The first technology I remember using in school were laptops for class, however what I remember enjoying using the laptops for was to play the educational game Zoombinis - the only game on the laptop. 7 years later in secondary school when the internet had developed more we played 'educational' games on coolmathsgames.com.
Smartboard where introduced to replace whiteboards but they were broken most of the time. In year 6 iPads were introduced we had one in each in my year but as they were new to the teachers also they didn't know how to use them in education so we mostly played games on them when we had spare time.

Until making this timeline I didn't realise how much of an impact that Apple has had on my life. Since Year 1 i've used MacBooks in school, when I was 16 I bought my own for sixth form. I've had and used many different generations of iPods, iPhones and iPads. While apple is overpriced, I will still buy their products as am most comfortable using IOS compared to Android and Windows systems due to growing up with it.

We didn't have SkyTV I couldn't record TV episodes, so me and my friend would sneak into the school library and watch episodes we had missed on BBCiPlayer using the computers. As I got into my teenage years I started to watch shows and films on my laptop mostly illegal streaming sites as I didn't want to wait for episodes to air or come out on DVD and sites are free. Now I mostly use streaming services like Netflix, and Amazon Prime on my Laptop and Ipad to watch shows (but I do occasionally use soap2day and fmovies when those platforms don't have the content I want)

The evolution of audio technology during my lifetime has been quick from 2000-2020. Technologies I've used to listen to music in order-ish are cassettes, CD's, illegal sites (i.e Grooveshark) Itunes, Radio, Youtube, Vinyl and most currently I use Spotify. I remember when it was a big deal to be walking around with 1000 song in your pocket and now I have access to millions at any time. I use this technology everyday and I would say out of all the technology on this timeline Spotify is the one I use the most.

I would be lying if i said I remembered a time when their were no mobiles, i've been around them my whole life, but I got my first when I was 10 the LG KS360 it cost £75 had a keyboard, a 3inch touch screen, and was small but heavy, if it did have access tot the internet I did not use it I use the phone for texting and pictures nothing else. My second phone was a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 (like a knockoff iPhone) fully touch screen but was slow and I found android hard to use as I also had an iPod touch at this time. The I upgraded to the iPhone 5S and haven't looked back.

I grew up on a small island and at the time only one small cinema which was very expensive so we didn't go often. Where I watched the most films was at school where they'd roll the TV into our classroom and we would watch the BFG, or Shrek as they where the only VCH Tapes the school had. At home we had VCR Tapes from Disney and Mr Bean episodes, I cried when we had to throw them out to make way for the DVD Player. The dvd player was quicker, the films were better quality and I didn't have to roll the film back into a DVD.
