You can add unlimited student and teacher accounts. Otherwise the Backpack subscription is charged for each teacher account.)

As the administrator (or the person called the "owner" of the Backpack school), a "Manage people" button exists on your Dashboard. 

Through the "Manage people" portal you can add user accounts. You can also

  • change a student account's role to "teacher"
  • suspend a user (suspended users will no longer be able to log in)
  • view a user's profile
  • delete a user's account (all the content they've created)

Adding more than one user at a time
If you have a CSV file of accounts you’d like to enter, you can also add them via the Add User button at Manage people portal as well. You can also forward it to hello@padlet.com and we can handle this for you (it usually takes at most 5 business days). Read about how here

On the top right corner, click SHARE

There, you can choose from four permissions options.

Private - Only you and the people you add as contributors can access the Padlet.
Org wide - Anyone who's registered in your backpack account can view your Padlet.
Password Protected - Visitors will need to enter a password (of your choosing) in order to access the Padlet.
Secret *- Anyone who has the link or QR code can access the Padlet. It will not be visible in Google search or public areas of Padlet.

So just click SHARE. In the 'Contributor' section, type in your teacher's username or email address, hit their avatar and choose access level:

- can write
- can moderate
- can administer

By clicking ADD, an invitation will be sent to the teacher.

The admin must enable third party log in for the account.

1. From the dashboard, click your avatar 
2. Click Settings >> Organization info >> Enable third party login
3. Choose an option for log in and add alternative domain if any

Note: If teachers are using the Google or Microsoft button to register, they'll be assigned 'student' accounts. The admin has to change role from student to teacher.
