Apparently it was closed as an earthquake risk following the Christchurch earthquakes in February 2011.

    from Paul Thomas -- The light grey / blue building is the former BNZ building. The BNZ pulled out for perceived earthquake risks associated with the building approx 3 years ago. Originally it was a single storied building approx 1874 and the BNZ added an upper story and I'll need to check on a date when that happened. To the right of the building was a smelting house for gold.
