In the 80's various musical genres were announced. Many people claim that the 80's was the beginning of electronic music. Among the most prominent of the time we can mention the following:
HARD ROCK: It is one of the most popular styles of music even today.
HEAVY METAL: The heavy started in the 70's, however it was not until the 80's that it was remodelled. Was the era for bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.
HIP HOP: In reference to this genre we can say that the first data are registered during the 80's.
POST PUNK: At the beginning of the 80's the first steps of the urban gothic subculture began to take place in the English underground. The Cure was one of the pioneering bands in this genre.
Some of the most recognised artists of the 80's were:

Britpop was the name used to call the British pop / rock groups of the music of the 90s. Their sounds were based on the guitar, with influences from British groups of the sixties such as the Beatles, the Who and the Kinks. 
                       
The music of the 90s picked up the tradition of hip-hop and mixing styles from the 70s. The German group Kraftwerk has already begun to mix everyday sounds, laying the foundations for what would later become techno.

The characteristics of this musical style consist of a pulsation formed by electronic means, which picks up the rhythm.It is necessary to highlight some British groups of the time, such as the Chemical Brothers, who made modifications to the electronic sound, adding guitar riffs to the composition.

Some artists who stood out were Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé etc. As the decade went by, electronica was taking more influence until it completely merged with pop, already at the end of the time. It should be noted that pop music was created in the 50s but developed in the 2000s and was born in England. It was developed taking elements of different popular musical genres of the moment.

They are the most played genres on the radio, digital platforms and in many other places. 
This has been possible thanks to a lot of singers such as Rihanna, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5 or Billie Eilish and in Spanish it has been Alejandro Sanz, Malú, Shakira, DAvid Bisbal or Enrique Iglesias. 
The music industry has evolved since the 80s, although there are still some good songs and even some that have become world famous.
