I would want to find out more about what he has planned for his future, and try my best to frame some of his work in this context. Find out what he wants to do and find work in the content area that relates to this. Similarly, I would find out his interests to try and engage him.

    I would try to make contact with the parents and stress the importance of their support on their child’s growth.

He probably excels when given an assignment that plays to his learning style. I would try to give him assignments that reflect his creativity.
