I added a picrure of our workspace, because for me it was a perfect place to gather thoughts about my identity and   get myself ready for the following course. 

I learned about the difficulties, that local people in Guadeloupe  had to overcome over the past and still are working their way to have basic human rights. It made me think how different nationalities are in so different levels. In the future Im certainly trying to be more understanding about cultural peculiarity, because you never know, which paths someone has taken before. 

It was a pleasure to discover some things about your culture! Looking forward seeing you tommorrow!

That said, digging into one’s own culture as a native definitely helps understanding the others. In addition, in the world that we life in at present, things change (globalize) at a greater pace than ever before. By embracing other people’s cultures it is absolutely fine to take pride in your own heritage. While nationalists may embrace the same thought, they exclude aliens, whereas by inclusion one will create a win-win situation.
What I also learnt is that the answer to one’s identity is not easy. Where do I belong to in a very rapidly changing world. 
Contrary to this, I can be very sentimental about the past where national identities seemed to be more clear and exciting to explore.
A very inspiring speech about Us and Them was given by former US President Barack Obama.
