In the book Bystander by James Preller I was wondering how he mentally and physically made it threw being the bystander and being the bullies next target. I found that reading the book Bystander it made sense regarding the content. Some of the questions I was asking myself while reading this book were why didn't he just stand up for the kids getting bullied? . I found the book very questioning, for example I found my self asking if there is something going on that could stop.

Threw out the book Bystander I found that in the past or the future everyone has been in the same position as being a bystander to bullying or being the one getting bullied or even being the bully. The Bystander book is very well written and I relate to it since I've been bullied. I understand and so do my friends what it feels like to not have anyone stand up for you.

Some of the conclusions I counted up in my mind while reading the book is what if he never stands up for the kids getting bullied. What if these kids feel the pain for not getting stood up for by anyone and Eric just ends up not caring about anything. Also I was thinking Eric has to end up standing up for them and has to do something and I thought once he did that he must form a group with him and those kids. What if, Eric was getting bullied by Conner so he couldn't do anything about it but then he did and Conner freaked out because Eric did what Conner said not to do.

In bystander some of the best passages that created the best pictures in my mind is when Griffin said “Middle School," Griffin repeated. "Where did they come up with that, anyway? We're in the middle of what, exactly? too old for elementary school, but not big enough for high school. So they shove us here. Look around. There's not an interesting person in sight, just a bunch of clones who want to be like everyone else.” I imagine them standing in the hallway talking and Griffin was getting emotional.

The book Bystander by James Preller is about a 13 year old boy named Eric. Him and his family picked up and moved, but his dad stayed behind this caused Eric to have a harder time as it is without his dad. His dad was suffering from depression. When he started at his new school James Preller makes it clear on all the adjustments hes going threw. His mom is also very busy trying to create a good life for her and her children in Long Island. When Eric was at school he met a group of middle schooler's. Very quickly after Eric realizes that the leader of the group, Griffin Connelly is not such a good guy.
Sticky #7 Theme of the book

Threw out the book I noticed a theme and that theme was to make sure your friends aren't getting bullied and make sure people and general that you see aren't getting bullied. Threw out the book I thought this was the theme because there is evidence in the book. In the book they bring up bystander which mean Eric in this case is just standing around watching the bullying without doing anything to stop it. Eric meets a boy they call ketchup boy who was getting bullied along with Conner the bully. Eric is new so he feels like he needs to be friends with Conner to fit in but the bystander is always the bully's next victim.

Threw out the story Eric matured a lot because at first he was almost a part of the bullying by being the bystander and not standing up for the kids getting bullied and he wasn't stopping anything but then he had a change in heart and threw out the book realized how wrong he was for not standing up for him. He stops the bullying and stands up for the kids getting bullied

Sticky #9 Authors style

James Preller does a really good job on the style and capturing the moments of middle school without crossing into older age groups. The details of the voices, actions, and chapters. He makes it so your open minded so that you know this could happen to anyone at any middle school. James Preller wrote the books so all ages could read with out it being disturbing. I have come to the conclusion that the authors style of writing in the book is descriptive. Its a clear detailed description of people, places, and events he used story telling to effectively communicate the on the subject of bullying.
