Laramie - I have 2 in the pupa stage and 1 caterpillar that is almost in the pupa stage.

I got it 1 week ago .It’s look like starting pupa staged the biggest Caterpillar looks like it starting to looks like a chrysalis.

I only have 2 Butterflies that made it. I lost 2 in the Caterpillar stage. One of the Chrysalis fell from the lid and when it hatched out its wings did not dry correctly. I am waiting for warmer weather this weekend to release them.

As of yesterday I have 5 butterflies. This morning we had one more. So 6 total with 6 still insides the chrysalis but they are very dark and should be out soon!

We watched 4 of our butterflies hatch and one cocoon was left. My mom said she was afraid that it would not hatch because that was what happened sometimes. Then it hatched the next day. I got 5 butterflies!

We went to a park with flowers to release the butterflies. I was a little sad that we released them. Now that I know that they are having a happy life, I'm not as sad.

The caterpillars are beginning to change into chrysalises. One fell off the top ☹️ But I watched them shake and squeeze into their chrysalis. It was so cool! They are a little slow because of the colder weather.

It was so cool to see how fast they got to this stage. I was sad though because one of the caterpillars knocked a chrysalis down. If you look close you can see it on the bottom.

So excited all ten of my butterflies made it. Sadly one hatched with no face and curled wings. I think it's the one that got knocked down because the chrysalis had a little crack in it.

When I opened the net they didn't fly away. After my mom showed me how to hold them we released them one by one. I even had my little brothers help out. It was a really cool experience and we kept the one that had the curled wings because he couldn't fly. He was only with me for 4 extra days after that because he also couldn't eat. I really enjoyed this and I think we are going to do it again in the summer.
