Research on H&M's stance on sustainability was really interesting. I have learnt that they are a key player in terms of this, and several of their competitors can learn from them as a brand. I was surprised to see they have the 2nd greatest instagram following after Zara. This just goes to show that they are utilising every outlet available to them, making them a truly OMNI brand. I would like to look at H&M in more depth in advance of my FMP to gather inspiration on sustainable processes that I could develop for my brand, Whistles. I thoroughly enjoyed this project because of how obviously it relates to actual industry tasks however, completing the project as a large group meant we didn't all get the opportunity to look at every aspect of a competitive shop. Whistles' current sweatshirts are priced at £79 so I priced my sweatshirt in line with this. All of their sweatshirts are currently produced in Portugal where the freight uplift is 2%. A luxury brand such as Whistles usually aim for a 70-79% profit margin. Below are my calculations based on these averages. I came to the landed cost price of £16.14.
