With respect to my goals, what was my proudest moment?
- my proudest moment would be finishing the poster using the art technique of stencilling. The stencils had taken a lot of time and effort to create and cut out, thus seeing the finished product was very rewarding. I think that this process pushed me to think creatively in order to translate my group's vision for the poster into a stencil, something that proved to be rather challenging. The piece also gave us the chance to play with complimentary and analogous colours in order to successfully convey our message and challenged our ability to utilise contrast and balance in our poster.
I think that my team mate and I worked well to get this done on time, delegating various parts of the poster to each other before putting it all together to create the final piece. It was a fun way for us to express our opinion on something and pushed us to think outside the box with the subject, "window", we were allocated.

With respect to my goals, what was my greatest challenge?
--> my greatest challenge was probably pushing myself to think creatively and learning different painting techniques with acrylic paint. I struggled to think outside the box when given a subject or theme and took a lot of time to find inspiration before I could eventually generate enough different ideas and pick the one I wanted to work on. Furthermore, as I have never really painted much before, I struggled when using the acrylic paint and did not really get the hang of how the medium worked, thus learning the different painting techniques proved to be a challenge. I felt like the paint kept drying too quickly, thus making it difficult for me to blend colours together. However, after some practice, I got more used to using it and got better at painting with it.

With respect to my goals, what was my proudest moment?
- my proudest moment is probably when I finished my pizza pinwheel as it was a moment of accomplishment for me. At the start of this module, I did not think that I would ever be able to finish an entire dish in an hour, so seeing that end product was very satisfying. Throughout this whole module, I learnt about all the various aspects of cooking, such as how to plate, cook and the nutrition factor of various foods, and the pizza pinwheel was the product of everything I had learnt. As I tried my best to cook that dish, though I still have room for improvement, I was very proud of myself.
With respect to my goals, what was my greatest challenge?
My greatest challenge throughout the entire module was probably making the tuna quiche. Even though it was supposed to be easier, I struggled using the crumbling technique and had some problems working with the dough fast enough to prevent the butter from totally melting. However, with some practice, it got easier over time. I also struggled with cooking the chicken during the chicken rice lesson as our oven was too hot, thus our chicken got burnt and dried out. Lastly, I also struggled with plating as I was not too sure how to position the food and use various sauces and leaves to garnish the plate. Though I have improved regarding this aspect, I think there is still more work to be done to make my dish more aesthetically pleasing.

With respect to my goals, what was my proudest moment?
- I think my proudest moment was completing the pop song with my partner. Even though we still had room for improvement, it was still satisfying to have accomplished producing a song, something which I had never given much thought to prior. I got to experience and better appreciate the level of complexity and dedication artists put into creating music and definitely understood more about the various aspects of a song. Some takeaways from this included learning what riffs and bass sounds were along with how to create a melody using the different instruments and chords. I was proud that we managed to write a song with a good message, encouraging people to recycle, and that we were successful in creating a nice tune.

With respect to my goals, what was my greatest challenge?
- my greatest challenge was probably learning how to play the ukulele. I had some problems learning the appropriate way to hold it as well as mastering the different possible strumming patterns. At the start, I found it challenging working with my group mates to play the piece together and stick to the same rhythm without creating too many large pauses between each note. However, over the lessons, with more practice and communication between us, we managed to cooperate and coordinate with each other to successfully play the piece.

-In what ways have you met the task demands? (Keywords : healthy, manipulative

skills)
I modified the pizza filling and recipe in order to make it healthier, using more vegetables and less cheese, using nutritious ingredients such as tomato and basil leaves to add flavour.I also practiced the manipulative skills of kneading and proving the pizza dough in order to let the yeast slowly activate, increasing the volume of the dough.
When plating the dish, I also practiced stacking the pizza and using basil and tomato leaves for garnishing and to add colour to the plate. All this helped to make my dish more appealing.

-Reflect on the practical test session

- Were you able to manage time?
I think that I completed my goal or completing all my cooking and cleaning in the allocated time as I managed to factor in enough time to let my pizza cool down and successfully was all my dished as well as picking a recipe within my skill level. I think I also managed to work efficiently and maintained the standard of hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
-Did you face difficulties? How did you overcome them?
Difficulties I faced were that I had some problems rolling up the pizza. dough and cutting it into even pieces. I also had some problems kneading my dough at the start and feel like maybe I did not give it enough time to prove properly.
-How would you have done it differently?
I would have kneaded my dough a bit more and given it some more time to rise. I would also have used more vegetables and ingredients as I feel like my pizza might be a little plain. Also, I would have baked my pizza longer.

- Reflect on the food blogging process

How useful were the nutritional tools?

-I found them very useful as they helped me to understand how to modify recipes to make them healthier and how to eat healthier. It also helped me learn of the different negative impacts of that can result from an unhealthy diet.

How manageable were the manipulative skills for you?

-I think they were a bit challenging for me at the start but what with some practice, I got better at using them.

How purposeful were the investigative activities in helping you come up with your final creation?

-It was very purposeful as it allowed me to experiment and explore with various types of cooking and ingredients in order to see whether or not it is possible to create a healthier version of a dish that still tastes equally good. This inspired me to modify the pizza dish and make it healthier and more nutritious while ensuring that it was still flavourful.

It was a fun experience that thought me how to stretch my creativity when coming up with different sketch ideas and allowed me to view the capsicum from a totally different perspective, coming up with new ways to "force-fit" the hobbit house and capsicum together. Featured below is my final piece: the miniature hobbit house perched atop the capsicum mountain. The SCAMPER tool I used was magnify.

experience: we learnt how to use careful observation in order to add depth and realism to our drawings of our hands. The first partially completed hand was drawn facing away from the sketchbook and the second facing the sketchbook. It was a new experience for me to draw single line art but I thoroughly enjoyed it, having always been curious about how artist found the creativity to add layers to their artwork without lifting up their pens. I think my drawing wasn't too bad but perhaps I should have allowed my pencil to flow a bit more freely and let the lines be more random as I feel like I tried too hard to control every aspect including the appearance of the squiggly lines.

Final Work

1. How I applied Balance and Harmony in my placement of my subject matters, Symmetrical OR assymmetrical composition
--> I tried to be symmetrical in my painting composition, placing my subject matter in the centre of the canvas. Though not exactly intentional, the painting is perhaps slightly heavier towards the bottom of the canvas.

2. How I used Rhythm & Repetition (repeating elements such as subject matters, colors, shapes, lines )
--> I used rhythm and repetition in the technique I used to paint in the various articles of clothing. I tried to use many lighter brush strokes for all the clothing rather than painting them completely in a solid colour in order to draw more attention to the pink stroke in the centre that was solid. Various shades or red and pink are also repeated throughout the painting.

3.How I used Contrast (color, size, texture, etc)
--> I used contrast in colour by painting the stroke in the centre of the canvas in brighter hues of pink. This was in contrast to the rest of the painting which I had done in darker colours such as black and colours in darker hues like maroon.
I also used contrast in the texture of the painting. While the person and clothing had been painted in smooth light brush strokes that did not completely cover the canvas, the stroke of pink had been done in thick layers and was completely filled. Furthermore, I used the dripping technique along the edges of the pink in order to give it more movement and make it more eye-catching to viewers when juxtaposed against the still, flat background.

4. A short writeup about my work and my response to the theme I chose.
--> My work was done in response to the theme "Social Commentary". Titled 'Vanity', I hoped to make a comment on pop culture and trend following in our generation. Specifically targeting the 'hypebeast' culture which has risen considerably in popularity, through the use of clothing from expensive name brands and by outlining the silhouette of the person with dotted lines, I hoped to show that in this materialistic society, we have chosen to let trends and appearances define us as people, hoping to impress others. The pink stroke, covering a large majority of where the person's head would be, was meant to symbolise our loss of individuality as people, placing emphasis only on superficial things.

5. Areas that I would want to improve upon?
--> I feel that the background of my painting is slightly plain and that maybe I could have done something there to fill up the space. I also thing that perhaps I should have played more with complementary or analogous colours in the piece in order to enhance the message and ensure that emphasis was placed on the appropriate portions of the painting. I do feel that my painting was slightly simple and that I should have experimented more with other techniques and skills we learnt throughout the module.

6. Which area are I am most satisfied with for my work ?
--> I am most satisfied with how the clothing in the painting turned out in the end. Though I think that I should have been more consistent and painted the t-shirt in the same brush stroke style, I am satisfied with how all the other pieces of clothing look as I think they do bear some resemblance to their real life counterpart and in general I like the effect created by the brush-strokes. I am also satisfied with the whole ideation and painting process I went through in order to obtain this final work. I think that it pushed me in terms of thinking creatively and that it encouraged me to think of a feasible yet fun way for me to express my message on my view on society.
