(Sunday, 16 March 2025)

REPORT FIRST DAY AT HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

All of the trainees assembled in the hotel lobby as early as 8:00 AM on the first day of our internship. We were taken to the Human Resource Management Office shortly after by the bellman. The HR representative, Madam Ayuni, then greeted us and led us to Level 2, Kijang 3, where an orientation was conducted. Madam Ayuni gave an overview of Hotel Perdana's history and operations before the seminar got underway. After then, each of the 11 trainees—who were students from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK)—was requested to provide a brief introduction. Following the orientation, we had to complete and sign the job agreement and internship registration paperwork.

After completing the registration process, we were given a tour of the hotel to become acquainted with the main areas and amenities. We made stops at every department during the trip to introduce ourselves to the corresponding teams. The Food & Beverage (F&B) department was where we were initially formally assigned. Abang Ikmal, the café captain for that week, greeted us when we reported for duty at the Cerana Café. Our first assignment was to help clean the dishes and place them in the proper location. Our locker keys and name tags were thereafter given to us. In order to facilitate daily check-in and check-out processes, we also registered our face IDs at the security department. At 3:30 PM, our first day came to a close, and we were free to go home.

( 29 May 2025 )

FRONT OFFICE DEPARTMENT FIRSTDAY

At 7:00 AM on the first day at Frontoffice of my industrial training, I got to the hotel. When I arrived at the Front Office department at 7:30 AM, a staff member named Ms. Nurul Shazwanie greeted me and gave me a briefing. Every learner was invited to provide a brief introduction during this session. I was given the warm greeting responsibility of stationing myself at the lift area at 8:00 AM to welcome guests. Until 9:00 AM, this assignment was completed. Subsequently, I was assigned to the front desk, where I watched and helped with taking calls from visitors and hotel staff. I'm eager to learn more in the days ahead after this first day, which was both fruitful and enlightening.
