THERE IS ONE PLACE THAT NEVER FAILS TO BRING ME HAPPINESS. Everytime I enter the Bow Tie cinemas movie theatre, waves of excitement, energy, and anticipation flow through me. I’m always bound to have a good time even if the movie isn’t good. The smell of fresh popcorn overpowers anything else. I take one big inhale, and a smile forms on my face. Every problem I have slips my mind when I’m in there. The only thing formulating in my head are the theories and wonders of how the movie will be. What’s going to happen? Who’s going to die? Will this live up to the hype? Everything about the place is soothing. The big open area is lit dimly but elegantly. I love examining the posters for movies yet to come out.

There is a fine difference though between going with your friends, and going alone. When my friends are there, every emotion I feel is heightened. I remember one time my friends and I went to see a movie together. The movie wasn’t even good, I really disliked it, but I still had a fun experience that night and I didn’t feel like I wasted my money. The only reason I felt this way was because my friends were there with me. I got to share the intense moments with someone. I got to laugh at a funny joke alongside someone. When it ended we all talked about how bad it was, the good few moments, and the theories we built throughout. Every time we finish a movie we go into such depth explaining which parts were the best and what something could mean for the future.

No matter what happens, I have never left that movie theatre unhappy, hungry, or displeased. Because no matter how bad the movie is, It’s the energy of the theatre, the smile of my friends, and the taste of the food that make everything good. I have so much nostalgia from the epic moments, the movies and the irreplaceable memories. That’s why whenever I leave I always can’t wait to get back. There are no negative aspects about Bow Tie Cinemas, in Trumbull CT.

THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL BEFORE WINTER BREAK NEVER FAILS TO EXCITE ME. IT WAS 2019, AND THE AIR WAS BRISK. It was my last day of school before winter break. Every class felt so long and dragged because of my eagerness to fly out of the school. Each period I would glance at the clock every 5 minutes to see if it would end soon. Finally when the bell rang at 2:50 for my last period of the day I dashed from my classroom into the mosh pit of students in the hallway, and out into the parking lot. The bus was frigid, and the leather seats felt like ice on my legs. I didn’t care though, I was homebound. When I exited the bus and entered my house, I was greeted by a breeze of warm air. There was no better feeling than dropping the backpack, and feeling the weight of school lift off of my shoulders. For the next 9 days there was not a single assignment I had to worry about. A smile spread across my face.

After greeting my family I was quick to rip open a pack of cocoa powder, and throw a cup of water into the microwave. While I desperately waited for my hot chocolate to heat in the microwave, I booted my PS4 up. I opened my favorite video game Fortnite, retrieved my hot chocolate, and sat down in my chair. The music was so peaceful and jolly, Nothing could interrupt my peace at that moment. I looked to my left and saw the lit up Christmas tree, to my right was my kitchen lit decorations and lights. Straight ahead were my friends waiting for me to join their game. The moment sits in my head now, and I like to think of it from time to time. At that exact moment, I felt absolutely nothing but joy. There wasn't a smell I would rather have wafting up my nose. Not a sound I’d rather hear. Not a lobby of friends I would rather have waiting for me. That moment is my happy place.

WHEN WE GOT MY DOG, IT WAS THE MOST MISERABLE YET WONDERFUL TRIP I’VE EVER HAD. We got him in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We had to drive 8 hours to pick it up because it was halfway between Milwaukee and Fairfield, which is where he previously lived. The unbearable heat from the ride remains in my head to this day. It was the hottest April day I can remember. I felt sticky from the sweat of my legs pressing against the leather seat of my car. We stayed in a beautiful hotel next to PNC Park. Before we picked up the dog, my family and I went to a Pittsburgh Pirates game. It was a nice change from the several hours long car ride. I pumped my stomach with ballpark ice cream, hotdogs, and popcorn. If I ate one more calorie that day, I would have burst like a balloon.

Then we met the dog. I don’t think my smile has ever reached as wide as it did that moment. He walked in with such chaotic energy, panting heavily. He was very heavy, and pudgy. His fat stomach made his short legs look even more timid. Everything about him I adored. Even his nasty smell which was quite similar to fritos. Every complaint I had prior to that moment was all irrelevant. It was amazing how quickly he swayed my opinion of that trip. He made everything better that day. I was happy too because I knew at that moment that he could make any bad day just a little bit better, just like he did when we got him.
