Kendrick Lamar Duckworth also known as Kendrick Lamar or Kdot for his rap alias was born in Compton California June 17, 1987. The 38-year-old is known for Grammy-worthy albums like good kid, m.A.A.d City(2012), and To pimp a Butterfly. Since he made so much good music he is regarded as one of the most influential rappers in this generation. He started his music career in 2003 when he was just 16 years old (that's the same age as me now). But growing up he wasn't really wealthy since the neighborhood he lived in had a high crime rate. He had a high school diploma, graduated with straight A's, and was rewarded with a 4.0 GPA. Lastly, During this long and talented career, he has: "won hip hop artist of the year, best live performer, lyricist of the year and, with his creative partner Dave Free, video director of the year."

Kendrick Lamar has inspired many rappers, singers, musicians, etc. Since he is so talented with lyricism he uses it and others are inspired to do the same. he also has a deeper meaning in his songs as well which people think is revolutionary in an era where mumble rap was popular. Kendrick also inspired me not because of his music, but because of his success while doing music because he was so good at what he did and he worked so hard it inspires me to do the same. His investments are also very good he puts money into EngineEars which was back in 2021, so he likes playing the long game hoping it profits him in the future.

Kendrick Lamar's art is how he uses the videography in his music videos by expressing what hes trying to say in his lyrics. Letting whoever is watching understands the point hes trying to get across. He uses the lyricism in his songs to get main point across and uses the images and videos in the background of his music videos to make it easier for someone to get his slang/idioms. Artist who really know music enjoy his great lyricism and how he can make it rhyme so that it also sounds good to someone who doesn't really listen to lyrics. Also, he uses videography so people who really know videography can understand how good he can be at using it so people can easier understand the point of the music.

Kendrick Lamar is known mostly for his lyricism and the way he can use words to make the listener really think about the bigger picture. An example of a song that has a real meaning in it is his song called "Feel" where he talks about the struggle a lot of people who are famous deal with. He states that the higher you are on the fame podium the more people expect from you and the farther you distance yourself from friends and family. This leads him into an empty void and isolation where he says "nobody prays for me" which means nobody really wishes good upon him since he's already doing "good".

inspirational meaning to me

inspirational is one of the many words to describe Kendrick Lamar and his music. I'm someone who was inspired by him because of his music, especially his album DAMN. The main reason I enjoyed that album so much is because it talks about real-world problems and something the regular person can relate to. He talks about the troubles he had experiencing love and how unfair he feels the world has treated him. He also talks about the losses he had when he was younger living in a very dangerous area where he saw and heard many things no one would wanna hear or see, especially a young teen. He talks about being glad to have started rapping instead of being influenced by the bad crowd and becoming affiliated with a gang and that's something everyone can be inspired by and thats why I was inspired too.

Kendrick Lamar's fashion involves a lot of streetwear and baggy-looking clothes. He can put very expensive alternative brands together and make a very unique look. There is not much talk about his fashion since he doesn't bring much attention to it. The fashion that's popular at the moment is very baggy which is something that Kendrick Lamar wears often. He's been wearing it even before it became popular though as seen from older photos from when he first started rapping.

Kendrick lamar is from Compton, California and he actually talks about his personal experiences in the streets of compton. He mostly talks about African American life and culture by using political and social commentary. He uses lyricism in ways that you really have to think to understand what he really means. he talks about racism, how his experiences with it have been awful and how others are experiencing the same thing everyday just to shed light on the matter. Also, Sexism is a main idea that he talks about in his album DAMN there's often lyrics like “Girl, I can buy yo' ass the world with my paystub" Which shows how men think of women as something to buy. drug abuse is the last of the top 3 main ideas kendrick uses in his song by him using his personal experience with seeing people around him lose their life just off drugs.

Inspirations to my artist

Kendrick Lamar is an inspiration to many but who was his inspiration? His inspiration is the greatest rapper from cali Tupac shakur. He says in his own words “Tupac inspired me just the simple way of how he put his words together” and “You really felt them, you felt the passion behind them." This was the reason Kendrick Lamar writes and raps music the way he does because Tupac did it too. The way he raps is with meaning behind it whether the meaning is drug abuse, sexism, or violence. He gets this way of rapping from his inspiration tupac since he did something similar with his lyrics too. He has other inspirations too like biggie smalls, jay-z, nas, and eminem.
