The poem had a handful of symbols written. It was beautifully structured and has really highlighted the situation of the Justice System of our country. Our system only favors the rich. The marginalized are left to suffer, and most of the time the crimes they commit aren't even that bad compared to the bigger criminals. Recently, an old man was arrested for stealing mangoes. He couldn't afford to get himself out of jail. This wouldn't be the same case for rich people. You can see, just like in the poem, that our justice is fading. The police men had to chip in money for the old man to be released.

Although my parents are not OFWs, I have relatives who are. This play was, in reality, very sad. I felt bad for the mother. She worked so hard, and none of her family seemed to appreciate that. She even went for the trouble to bring them to Canada, and yet her husband cheated on her, and her son wants to leave her as soon as possible. What's even sadder is that you can't blame the son for his feelings. He grew up with no mother by his side. It's only natural for him to feel the way he does. The husband's actions, however, is unacceptable. There is no excuse that could save his actions.

Racism is very rampant before, and until now it still goes on. There have been many organizations and advocacies to prevent this. I really wonder why some white people feel like they are more superior or entitled. Wanting to stay "pure and sterile" is so absurd. We aren't dirt. You can really see that history isn't that far. A lot of things still happen to us. I don't blame the people of color for taking revenge. They should have done so a long time ago because they never deserved the discrimination that they have faced or still face. I hope future generations will learn and erase these harmful stigmas.

I love video games. The game I'm currently obsessed with is Animal Crossing. I have my own island where I can decorate my own village/city. It's very easy to feel immersed and feel like I'm living a whole new reality. However, I still try to make the most out of my real life. There's not much you can do when you're supposed to stay at home at all times because of the pandemic. So, how can you still feel "Alive"? I spend most of my time studying or doing requirements. I don't wanna be like the guy in the story. I don't want to just exist.

I really enjoyed this story. I think this one is my favorite out of all the stories we have read so far. It was the most creative, and dynamic story that actually caught my attention. I loved the concept and it was interesting. Maybe I'm just saying this because it includes romance, but it was nice! When I was reading it, I could vividly picture it because it was explained in so much detail. It's an interesting world to live in. I would like to experience going to another world virtually, but I don't want to permanently live there. Who knew she would end up with the guy she was taking care of for many years.

This was the topic that was assigned to me and I hope i gave it justice. I think a lot of women in the world has been introduced to the idea that all we are and all we will be are the wives of our husbands. I'm glad that this isn't the mindset and behavior we live with now, but traces of this thinking still penetrates millions of minds in the world. Along with that we also discussed about tale-telling, and how Penelope calls it a low art. She is right, tale telling is harmful especially when the word being spread out is only but a rumor or an opinion.

Beauty standards have affected each and every one of us. We will never be enough to a lot of people. You're either too thin, or too fat, and even if you seem to have a healthy weight, you still get called either of the two. It drives us to conform to the standards in order to just have a place in this world. Even if some don't do it to our face to face, it happens to us subconsciously especially when all the models that are plastered on products and posters are not the body that we have. We are slowly moving on from this, but it's going to take a while.

They are like having another set of eyes that helps us see things we haven't seen before.
It felt like talking to a person with random deep thoughts. It's the kind of thoughts I would try to make up when I'm not on my phone and there's nothing to distract me. It doesn't really change my view, since I follow a few create on TikTok that show their life as an autistic person. They seem normal to me. They just need more sensitivity and help in some things.

I think he's right. My name is divine grace. I wouldn't want people to always expect me to be graceful, or divine.

This story was so sad. That girl deserved to live her own life, without the expense of her mother. She and her brother didn't deserve anything they went through. What's even sadder is that we can't invalidate the mother's feelings as well. People really go through heavy grief and depression, and not everyone can heal the same. Everyone in this story was hurting, not knowing if they can ever escape this hell. Are they really the only ones left in this world? Will there ever really be a cure?

A Life Lived Through Time

When a book ends, it is a whole era, story, whatever you want to call it - that is over. It’s not like the usual narrative where a chapter ends and the story goes on to the next. If ever a new story begins, it is independent of the book that has ended as it will have its own story to tell.

Imagine a book in a form of a human. I would imagine it as this kind of entity where its body is filled with colors that represent the happy memories, grey for the pain, and just plain white for the parts left unfinished- because not all books are able to be completed. It is a sum of all the experiences and learnings that make each entity unique and different. So, what is the worth of these entities? What would you trade for a life that was lived, a story of anything under the sun, and a life that wants to keep on living?

Books are read and passed on. These stories outlive us - just like the stories we indulge in have outlived their authors for centuries. It is a part of who they were. Books are stories of people who have learned and lived through time, and every book that closes is a journey fulfilled. When we finish reading these books, something is added to us. Remember those colors that I talked about a while ago? Well, imagine those colors being added to you after you have that book closed. It is priceless. May it be a form of human connection or just a metaphor for something in life that ends, it still holds true.

There can be no exact price, and it may be difficult to name what it’s worth when it is subjective and personal because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may be precious to you is a reminder of heartache for another. However, it will never be worthless. Good or bad story, a lesson is learned and an experience is made.
