         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Rise of mass media - crisis emerged in various aspects --&gt; tensions<br><br><strong>Technology</strong>: access to news changed to linked article; then resulted in information abundance; audiences are now unwilling to pay for news since there are more and more free access to all sorts of news from various sources;<br>Advertising: monopoly of advertising no longer exist;<br><br><strong>Professionalism</strong>: due to the much easier access to news, more and more amateur activaate in the "professional" field of journlaism --&gt; professionalism facing challenges<br><br><strong>Economics</strong>: technological changes lead to the closure of newspapers; lost of job while the content demand increasing in digital media; as news shifts online, media business becomes less profitable;<br><br><strong>Cultural</strong>: public interest decreasing;<br><br><strong>Political</strong>: lack of control &amp; increasing media powers engage --&gt; decline of news<br><br><strong>Content</strong>: tabloidization; loss of reporters; news abundance with increasingly competitive;<br><br>Owing to the challenges and changing from all different aspects, journalism is trapped in crisis. The rapid development of technology results in series of transformations. In my perspective, it is a crisis, but also an opportunity. Journalists now have the chance to jump out of the transitional frame in order to establish new authority to meet the current situation. It might be the time to substitute a new regime for the old.<br><br></div>]]></description>
