Exemplar

racticing Clear Shift Notes with AI and Slack

Reflection:
This week, I used the CareWise Companion chatbot to simulate how to assign clear shift notes to team members. One insight I gained was how even small wording changes can reduce confusion during busy handovers.

I practiced in Slack with a classmate by role-playing a scenario involving a resident with new mobility concerns. The chatbot helped me clarify my message so it was concise, specific, and task-oriented.

What worked well:
The chatbot encouraged me to simplify clinical language and focus on who needs to know what. My Slack message was short, but covered key facts and next steps.

One tip for coworkers:
Before sending a shift note, ask yourself: Would a teammate who just walked into this shift understand exactly what needs to be done? If not, rewrite it with more clarity.
