Connecting learning to personal interests helps encourage learners be active and interested in the learning process.

Reward the students, not just with grades but praise them or have cultural experiences

Challenging tasks

  1. How can you inspire learners to be more motivated to learn if they are only taking the class because they ¨have to¨?
Show how learning a language can enrich your life experiences, other cultures, meet other people that speak another language. 
Make learning fun!
  1. What do you do with apathetic learners?
            
Mix it up!  Do some writing, some speaking, have students get up and have dialog with other students, have students got to the board/flipped classroom.
