Here they learnt more about thinking ahead to potential decisions about university, had a tour of the college (and lunch in Hall), visited the Pitts Rivers Museum (where they had an artefact-handling and discovery session), and then a Q&A discussion with current students at the university. It was a great and, indeed, inspiring day! Whilst we can only take a small group onto the Inspire Programme itself, there are also other ways students and Chailey families can get involved. We are very aware that many of our students are involved in youth organisations, be that army cadets, sea cadets, air cadets, guided or scouts who are selling poppies and attending remembrance parades over the next week. 

We would love to celebrate the selfless commitment of our students by making a spread in the newsletter. 

If you and your child are happy to send in pictures of their activities over the next week (selling poppies or on remembrance parade) we would be very grateful.

I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to the teaching staff at Chailey for going above and beyond specifically with their additional support for the year 11s approaching GCSEs.

My child left the house this morning for school really pleased for achieving higher predicted grades in their report for English which they find really difficult. I’ve been having a look online at the revision materials provided by each department and was amazed at the detailed files offered, especially in Science. I know a lot of that preparation is done by the teachers out of school hours or in lunchtimes etc (thank you Mr Deacon!) and just wanted to say how grateful we are for teachers going above and beyond. It’s definitely having the desired effect!
