The root cause was WWII. In WWII the Nazis were rounding up the Jewish people, and exterminating them. After all that there were millions of Jewish refugees in need of a home. The U.N decided to solve the issue, and came up with a "Flawless," plan. They sacrificed Palestine. Where millions of Arabs already lived, they got kicked out to make room for the Jewish people. On May 14th, 1948, the state of Israel was founded. There have been attempts for peace in the past, but not many have been successful. One attempt happened on September 17th, 1978 Under Jimmy Carter's presidency. What happened was the president of Egypt signed the Camp David Accords, stating that Egypt recognized the state of Israel as a sovereign nation. This severely aggravated the Arab people and got the Egyptian president assassinated. Although Israel and Egypt are at peace, the Camp David Accords didn't sway that in any way. Another attempt happened on September 1993 under the Clinton administration. Many communities that once had Jewish, and Arab people living in peace are now divided. There have also several wars between Israel, and Arab countries, creating a tense environment. There have been lots of bombings and fighting within these Arab countries. Because of this issue there are millions of refugees. There are also some very aggressive and brutal terrorist groups that formed from this problem.  There have also been many deaths. These deaths have been caused by fire, explosions, bullets and many more ways.
