They didn't know why the painter lady was painting on any walls that wasn't even hers. But soon, they found out the painter lady was a cousin of Jimmy Lyon who went to the Vietnam War. She was only painting on the wall for the remembrance of her cousin. I can't relate to this because this kind of situation never happened to me where I noticed someone differently until I knew who they really were. From this, I can learn to not know someone or something and treat them differently.

This type of figurative language is a personification because a sunlight cannot be fierce.

Mama is getting a order from the painter lady. The painter lady asks mama some additional things on her salad. The mama says sure, but she comes to the painter ladies face closely and tells her that she will just get what she gets. The readers start to understand that mama is not nice at all and the painter lady just listens to her. This is important to the plot because wherever the painter lady goes, she is not getting any respect. he painter lady is viewed as someone not like the others in the town. The readers can infer that it's unfair and not kind to do this and that not a lot of people is going to nice to her still because of the way other people acts to her.

She once said that she didn't care about friends and having friendships, but she now cares about those things. I can see that Cath gets close to the people that she sees everyday and interact everyday.
"Reagan snorted. 'We need to turn in our housing forms if we want the same room next year.' Cath set down her juice glass. 'Wait... Are you saying you want to live with me again?' 'Eff yeah, you're never even home. It's like I've finally got a room to myself.' "

Cath only has a few days left until she finishes her freshman year of college. She has writing assignments that she needs to turn stuff in piece by piece, but she is waiting to do the assignments later after when Cath's done writing her own story that she writes out of school. I wouldn't be able to relate to this because I like to get things done whenever I have assignments I need to do. If I do it later, my grades won't be as good and sometimes I might forget about it. Doing things that I need to do right now will be better for me because than I'll be done with it quickly.

I this page, Cath and Levi is complementing each other and why they like each other so much. Through this page, we can infer that Cath acts differently when she's with someone who she deeply is in love with. We haven 't seen Cath in this perspective in the beginning and middle of the book. This is something new that we can learn about Cath.
"Cath closed her eyes and felt tears catch on her cheek."
" 'I like your glasses,' he said. 'I like your Simon Snow T-shirts. I like that you don't smile at everyone' " " 'I love you,' she said. 'Levi.'"

In this page, Cath and her dad and her twin are going to Cath's new dorm. While going there, Wren is telling Cath to please meet new people so they can later both be treated equally. We can see that Wren interacts with a lot of people and is popular. But on the other hand, Cath isn't. Wren doesn't like how people treat Cath so she wants to her to interact and meet new people when she's at college.
"I don't need new people."
"That just shows how much you need new people..." Wren squeezed Cath's hands. "Cath, think about it. If we do this together, people will treat us like we're the same person. It'll be four years before anyone can even tell us apart."

Reagan is Cath's roommate in her dorm. Cath's impression of Reagan was cold. But as they talked a little more, she wasn't to bad. Reagan listened to Cath whenever there was something going on and helped her to figure things out. I can relate to this because my church friends always listens to what's going to me and what's happening in my point of life. They give great advice and they comfort me the most.

When Cath's mom was about to leave before Wren woke up at the hospital, Cath was angry and told her why she should see Wren and not leave. But it didn't work and Cath's mom left. I can't relate to this because I didn't have a mom who left me. But I also think that if I was Cath, I would've told her mom that she really missed her and she needed her in her life and tell everything she didn't know of. This might've changed things about her mom's thoughts.
